It’s that time of year again. You know, the time of year when you profess your love for all things breakfast with concise-yet-stirring poetry.

Today marks the official opening of submissions for The Second Annual Great Breakfast Haiku Challenge. Submit your original breakfast-inspired haiku to breakfastwithkc@gmail.com or by tagging us on Instagram (@webreakfast). Deadline’s Sunday, May 15.

Our good friends, literary mavens, and breakfast buffs Megan Moore, Darcy Lambert (last year’s winner), and Emma Janeczko will be judging. Real judges = real competition, so put your pen to your placemat and send your brilliance our way.

The winner will receive a we break fast t-shirt and his/her haiku will be published (along with honorable mentions) on Sunday, May 22, 2016.
